The Indian National Congress (INC) is Founded by A.O. Hume in Mumbai. First Session Of INC was held in Mumbai from 28 - 31 December in 1885.
After the Revolution of 1857, the feeling of nationalism in India must have arisen but he could not take the form of an agitation till it was established in order to lead and operate an institution in an embodiment of Indians. Fortunately, Indians got the same organization as the Indian National Congress. Earlier even small entities had been born. Like "British Indian Association" in 1851 AD and "Madras Native Association" was established in 1852. By creating these institutions a conscious awareness has emerged in political life. Through these institutions, the attention of the government in humble language was attracted to bring about amendment in the rules, but imperialist British always ignored these proposals.
Due to the neglected policy of the British government, the Indian movement agitated 1857, and after that the opposition of Indians never stopped, but continued. In 1876, Shri Surendranath Banerjee and Ananda Mohan Bose established an association called "Indian Association". After that, a "public meeting" organization was formed in Poona. The Indian movement was becoming powerful every day. A.O. Hume published a letter to the graduates of the University of Calcutta in 1883 AD, in which an appeal was made to create an organization for India's social, ethical and political uplift. A.O. Hume's efforts influenced the Indians and after the discussions with national leaders and high officials of the government, Hume established "Indian National Union". Later "National League" in Bengal "Mahajan Sabha" in Madras and "Presidency Association" in Bombay was established in this order. After this Hume went to England and negotiated with the British press and MPs and prepared the background of the establishment of the Indian National Congress. The first session of the Congress (INC) was held on December 28, 1885 in Bombay, whose first president was Shri Vyotsheesh Chandra Banerjee. In this way, Indians got a medium in the form of Congress, who continued to lead them in the fight for independence.
